The Chair Project | United Way

United Way of Midland County is searching for local artists to create a visual representation of an impact story onto one of fifteen wooden chairs that will be displayed at an art exhibition held at the Midland Center for the Arts. We encourage hobbyists and professional artists to apply to be selected as one of fifteen event featured artists.

United Way of Midland County will request impact stories from their partner agencies and will choose one story to represent each of the fifteen issue areas. Artists are encouraged to choose the issue areas they are passionate about on the application. Some issue areas are sensitive topics. Artists may specify on the application if they do not want to be paired with any of the topics listed. United Way will do their best to pair each artist with a story that aligns with their passions, but this is not guaranteed.

The artwork will be on display at the Midland Center for the Arts beginning July 29, 2022 through September 4, 2022. This art exhibition is open to the public during Midland Center for the Arts normal business hours. Tickets will be available at mcfta.org in July. United Way of Midland County will host a private reception on August 16, 2022.

Local businesses and organizations are invited to get involved. More information about sponsorship opportunities will be available soon.”
